Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2021 Alibaba Global Mathematics Competition
About the Competition
Alibaba Global Mathematics Competition, jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, Alibaba Foundation, and Alibaba DAMO Academy, is an event open to math enthusiasts all over the world, and integrates competition, training and communication.
The competition aims to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of math in the global tech community, while facilitating research in math.
Alibaba DAMO Academy seeks to serve society through inspiring a passion for math and basic sciences. By organizing global math competitions, the Academy hopes to help more young people see the beauty of mathematics and encourage them to pursue careers in it.
Alibaba is willing to contribute in expanding the role of math in society, drive original research and breakthroughs, and the development of gifted future mathematicians.
Qualifying Round
Formality：Online Individual Competition
Type of Questions：Multiple Choice，Problem solving, and Proof Questions
Time：8AM May 16th，2021–8AM May 19th，2021 （Beijing Time） You have 72 hours for this round
Language： The questions are provided in both Chinese and English. You may use either language to answer them.
Competition Rules:
— The qualifying round totals a full score of 120 points. Finalists are determined through their scores during the qualifying round.
— You may refer to printed or offline materials. Programming is allowed
— Please complete the test problems independently. Cheating, discussing with others, or publicizing the questions is NOT Allowed.
Scores for the qualifying round as well as finalists will be published on June 15th. Please check your registered email for further notice.
Final Round
Formality: Online Individual Competition
Type of Question：
The final round consists of five tracks of different subject areas:
Algebra & Number Theory
Geometry & Topology
Analysis & Differential Equations,
Applied & Computational Mathematics
Combinatorics & Probability.
Topics covered in the final round will be released later in June.
Date of the Competition: 8AM，June 26th — 12AM，June 26th. You may choose your continuous 8 hours to complete the final round within this period.
Competition Rules:
— When the final round begins, we will ask you to select one major track and one minor track. The selection, once made, is final.
— You can submit solutions to all five problems in your major track. The final awards are allocated based on total points of the major and the minor track.
— You may refer to printed or offline materials. Programming is allowed
Please complete the test problems independently. Cheating, discussing with others, or publicizing the questions is NOT Allowed
